Family History Trunk or Treat 2018

This was an activity held on Halloween at the church.
There was a family history theme where members brought their families secret recipe of Chili, to share.
There were so many delicious Chillies to choose from.  But then if one tasted every Chili, they may not have enough room to eat all the candy they want, later on.
After supper we had a trunk or treat in the parking lot where  the children could load up on Candy. The cars were decorated with items relating to family history.
What a hallowed night it was!

Halloween Candy Bowls

On  October 17, 2018, the young women spent their evening making candy bowls that look like bubble gum machines. They used terra cotta pots for the base, candy bowls to hold the candy and a terra cotta saucer with a wood knob for a lid. The girls painted the terra cotta pots and saucers their favorite Halloween colors and then assembled them together. Once assembled, they added Halloween embellishments that were unique to them. Once completed they filled their candy jars with candy! All our girls had a great time.

Simply Plum Delight Service Project

Simply & Plumly Delightful - A Service Project
On September 26, 2018 we had a combined YM/YW activity where we all went to Sister Shields home to help her prepare her plums for the dehydration or drying process. Most of our youth attended and one of our young women even brought a couple of her friends! The young men and women had fun talking and laughing while cutting the plums in half and putting them on drying trays. The leaders helped by taking grapes off the stems and preparing them for freezing. What would have taken Sister Shields a full day or a couple of days of work to do, only took the youth and leaders under an hour to finish! The youth felt very good about the service they rendered.
